Decorating

So I lately become obsessed with decorating... I have no idea why. Maybe because I might be graduating early, but still I have no idea why decorating has got a hold on me...
What I have found out is:

• I like bamboo chairs. All the kitchen pics I have liked have these types of chairs
• I love bolsters pillows and white bedding... Hey mom we have a white bedspread... OMG saving money!!!

• I have also realized my love of green and light blue for decorating with hot pink pops of color

• I also like yellow!

So thats my decorating favorites I have found. I really like to use color and keep things with clean lines, but still comfortable.

This week I have Theta Rocks the Casa that I am decorating for, football and Eli Young Band concert on Saturday, and new hair and makeover on Sunday... Expect some fun posts coming soon!

So this is Lauren Conrads long brunette bob... but its a wig. Do you think PBC could make this a reality, I like it a lot! What do think? Opinions please!

This weekend was both good and bad...
Friday: W and I went for a D.D.D as we call them, a Dallas Day Date! We shopped at North Park dined at Mi Cocina and returned home. I of course went to the mother ship, Lilly Pulitzer where I scored an awesome Bremuda Bag sort of but not exactly like this one... I also picked up some William and Sononama Pumpkin Quick Bread and Pumpkin Butter... Yum

Saturday: Game Day v. NWL Demons

We won 68-13 which you would this is a great thing for our team, but they are called the demons for a reason. This high school equivalent team took out or starting QB, Robert Griffin the III, and gave him a season ending torn ACL. If you don't know about Baylor football this was a year to even try to make a bowl and it is all gone from this stupid game where we killed a crappy team. Please also note that our kicker is done for the season as well due to his knee, and our back up QB, Symanski, broke his hand during the game and is on a day to day basis as the athletic trainers put it....
Pardon my french but shit.
We wish RG3 a speedy recovery, he is a good kid who is probably feeling the weight of the world on his sholders right now.

Halloween!

I have been putting this post for as long as possible due to my slight addiction to this holiday but...

I have already begun to by decorations for this year and have a whole tub in my closet of Halloween fun! I owe my Halloween addiction to...

1. My mother- we always had so much fun dressing up and decorating the house
2. Childhood parties- where we would decorate pumpkins and bob for apples... gotta love the 90's

3. The Disney Channel and this movie, Halloweentown (1998)... All of us growing up in the 90's-Early 2000's knows the impact this movie made on us, and respectfully I own it and Kalabars Revenge on DVD

Please do not worry the infamous Hocus Pocus also graces my selves...

So today is another game day and I seriously need to clean before my mom and grandparents get here so I am off!

Best Weekend Wrap Up Ever

So this basically was one of the best weekends ever:

Friday- My parent came in town for Parents Weekend and we went to our lunch tradition Ninfa's Mexican Food as soon as they got there. Then we went ring shopping for my college ring... more on that later! We chilled for awhile then the girls and I all got ready for Britney Spears!!! We sat in the owners suite and had VIP passes... Love my life!

We went to dinner at Bubba's in Highland Park and I got to see Maddie one of my campers I love so much! The concert was amazing and so entertaining!
Here is a pic of the roomies and I in the box... the lazers kinda mess it up but oh well!
Then we went home to Waco and met up with all of our alumni friends who came in town including an old fling of mine... hehe! Lets just say flames may be igniting once again.

Saturday: Game Day! Baylor vs. U.Conn and our overly confident Bears thought they one the game before they stepped on the field. Silly Bears, Jesus teaches us humility in all things, even football. Of course, W and I looked super cute in our game day outfits!
W and I and our alumni mothers and should be considered alumni fathers all went to a steak house for dinner to catch up and have fun!
I love my W!
Then we went to Katie's Custard which is delicious and came home and chatted when it was time for my parents to leave.
Later that night I had to go save my favorite frat boys from the cops when they needed a sober driver!
So PBC to the rescue as always... gotta love my boys!

Getting my life together slowly but surely...

So here we are again with my endless to do list... This gets me thinking why do we have to do lists, is it the ultra organized prep in me or the fact that I go to a very challenging university, both, or something entirely different.

Well last weekend was supposed to be laundry/ cleaning/ change the sheets weekend...
Well do to a frat party on Saturday none of that happened haha

Well here is the latest rundown...

• Mom and Dad come on Friday for Parents Weekend
• Then my girls and I are jetting off to Dallas to go see Britney Spears
• Then back for Baylor vs. U.Conn game with my sorority tail gate before it
• Then hanging out with my parents
• And all this time my second draft of my local attraction piece is due Sunday at 5pm

So before I can have all of this fun I need to:

• Change sheets
• Put up laundry
• Wash all my dirty clothes
• Clean all of Eta House
• Deep clean bathroom

Please note: I will clean everything for my mom to come and reclean the entire thing!

I officially have no life...

Man, junior year is a toughy. I am only in my fourth week and already have done more homework than I did all last semester (my grades are higher this semester so far though)

Currently I am taking a study break from my Spanish test I have in an hour... it shouldn't be bad but then all test scare me.
So we are now on Day 4 of the endless rain... But things are cooling off here in central Texas!
In other news:
GOSSIP GIRL IS BACK ON TONIGHT!
The TIVO has been set and my girls and I are ready for our alter egos to come back on TV.

My Morning Make Up

I wanted to share with you all what I do for my makeup in the morning and what products I use:

First is conceal: Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer

Then Moisturize, Protect, and Cover: Kiehls Tinted Moisturizer Medium
Then Cover More: Laura Mercier Powder

Then I use Mac Eyeliner on my top lid only, apply light brown shimmery shadow, and Mac Pro Lash Mascara

My Saving Grace for Makeup is from Tarte:
16 Full eyeshadows, 16 Lipsticks, 2 Bronzers and 4 Blushes in one easy to pack and use kit!

WW= Eating Healthy

So I have decided not to go back to WW meetings but to apply the points system on my own and track my food using Spark People and my old slider I have. Jenny Craig didnt work for me duh- I have a social life that involves eating out or at friends. WW worked once and it will work again. I am exercising now 3-4 times a week and it is working but I need to bump it up. Basically I turn 21 in 7 months so I am losing 20 pounds by then. No question! To stay accountable at the end of my daily post in small font I am going to put this:
1. Daily Points: how many did I use out of 24
2. Did I exercise: yes or no
3. Water: how many glasses I drank

Please encourage me as needed!
You all are my biggest support!

Starting Fall with a Treat

So... you know me PBC's always on a health kick trying to lose 15 pounds, but I have decided not to diet just try to eat as healthy as possible as often as I can, with a little WW tracking invovled. I have also added a new and intense workout class to my schedule that is kicking pounds off finally! More on that later... But I love to bake and found this amazing fall recipe that is only 2 WW points!

Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes:

1 box chocolate cake mix
15oz. Pumpkin Pie Filling
Bake at 400 for 22-25 min.

These were easy, super moist, healthy, and a yummy way to start adding the flavors of fall!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day!This long weekend is just what I needed. W and I had a great time just hanging around the apartment watching tons of movies! Baylor was victorious over Wake Forest on Saturday which was awesome. We also got housecleaning done and I made chicken pot pie and strawberry shortcake last night to celebrate.

Today W and I are going to Souper Salad for lunch then possibly hitting up some labor day sales!
I feel the need for a Target run!

National College Colors Day!

It is National Wear Your College Colors Day! Here in the south football is life and we get dressed up for games!

For all us Texas girls Campus Couture has made us a line of great college game day clothes.
Here are the two tops I own and will rock next week at our game:
Sic' Em Bears!

Key Lime Cupcakes

Being the Florida girl that I am I love Key Lime anything!

I have been looking for a good key lime cupcake recipe and today I found it so I had to share!Makes 24 cupcakes.

• 1/2 C butter (room temperature)
• 1 C sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 C milk
• 1 C flour
• 1 1/2 C graham cracker crumbs
• 1 t baking soda
• 1 t baking powder
• 1/8 t salt
• 5 egg yolks
• 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
• 1/2 C lime or key lime juice (Try Nellie and Joes, Its the best)
  

1. Beat the butter for about 30 seconds until creamed.
2. Add the sugar and mix for 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs, one at a time, being sure to beat for 30 seconds for each egg.
4. Use food processor or a potato masher or whatever you have on hand to grind the graham crackers into tiny crumbs and powder.
5. Sift the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda and powder, and salt. (I didn't actually sift the graham cracker crumbs. While mine were small, I don't think they would have fit through the sifter.)
6. Add about 1/4 of the mixture to the butter mixture.
7. Add some of the milk.
8. Continue to add the ingredients in a dry - wet - dry method, ending with the dry.
9. Mix until just combined.
10. In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, and lime juice. (FYI - If you want to make an amazing key lime pie, just mix the ingredients in this step, dump it into a pie shell and bake at 375 for 15 minutes. It's the easiest recipe ever! The pie won't be green and it shouldn't be. Lime juice isn't green.)
11. Dump the key lime mixture into the graham batter and lightly stir. Do NOT fully integrate the key lime and graham batter. You should have clumps of batter in a key lime soup.
12. Fill cupcake liners 3/4 full. Make sure each liner has a nice distribution of key lime liquid and graham clumps.
13. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until top bounces back when touched.

The Lime Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe

• 1 8oz package of cream cheese (room temperature)
• 1/4 C butter (room temperature)
• 4 C powdered sugar (I recommend that you sift it.)
• 1 t lime extract

1. Mix the cream cheese and butter.
2. Add the powdered sugar and lime extract.

OMG! I got it all done... somehow

Somehow I got everything done these last 2 days!

Here is all I did:

My bestest sorority sister C (who is an interior design student) came over and out of boredom we redid my entire room leaving it a mess but looking great.

So... the whole room needed to be cleaned and it now is!

All my laundry is done and for me this is huge!
