The Russian Tea Room

Sunday I had an amazing experience in NYC! It was Restaurant Week, so a group of us went to The Russian Tea Room for lunch!

Here we are with our menus in the ornate dinning room. We had a lovely three course meal and enjoyed catching up with others in the group.
I had an amazing mushroom and goat cheese blinchike, bouefe a la stroganoff, and a chocolate pyramid for dessert. It was all so yummy, but just being in the tea room itself was far better than the food.
Here is a pic of our group all at lunch! My dress is BCBG and of course I am the blondie on the left!

Brrr.... It's Cold in Here

Well I have officially chosen the worst winter every to live in New York City.

NYC just announced the third emergency winter storm state since I have been here.

But not to fret the weather does not get me down! Last weekend my roommate Ashleigh (who's blog you can find here) and I traveled through Central Park!

The natural beauty of Central Park combined with it's blanket of white snow made for a beautiful afternoon! Of course we visited Strawberry Field, and this Beatles lover had to document the trip!

All you need is love!

I Am Art!

On Thursday night a big group of us all went to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and attended the Andy Warhol Cocktail Party by Pop Rally.
The event was sold out so thankfully we all bought tickets online a few days before.
While we were there we all go to see the amazing Andy Warhol Film Project colletion...

While we were there an artist, Conrad Venture, was making his own Andy Warhol inspired art that would be shown on the walls of the museum and guess what? I am officially art!
Check it out!

I Love New York

Well everybody,
I hate to quote the stereotypical New York gift but...New York is one big constant adventure. There is always something going on, someplace to eat, some show to see, or some deal to take advantage of.
This weekend I am going to the Museum of Modern Art (aka MoMA) for an Andy Warhol Cocktail Party and spending the rest of my weekend exploring more of the city including Central Park. I have found I am never bored in NYC, which as you all know I was bored out of my mind in Waco. Time is truly flying by here. I cannot believe today marks the end of week two of my internships. I am looking forward to my parents coming, followed by my grandparents. My 22nd birthday will be a big one and I am so excited to celebrate it all with my family! I honestly thank God for the blessing of being able to have this opportunity every night. I am truly blessed and lucky! Can't wait to share more adventures with you!

Weekend with W!

So W came to visit this weekend in NYC and let me tell you we did it all. Take this as the ultimate weekend in NYC guide if you are planning a visit soon!

Fri-
W arrived around 11am and we get off to Timesquare.
We took the usual pics of the square and all the pretty lights.
We visited the Disney store, M&M store, and Hershey Store.
Lunch was at Carnegie deli where we split everything and still couldn't finish it!
At 3p, we stood in line at TKTS and got tickets for Memphis!
W and I then went down to the 9/11 Museum and shopped.
We took our packages back to my apt and then off to the show.
Memphis was absolutely amazing!
Abe and Arthur in Meatpacking for a drink then home!

Sat-
Up and out early!
Student rushed American Idiot!!!
Then shopping at Bloomingdales, Fifth Ave, Lexington!
We had a frozen hot chocolate at Dylans Candy Bar so yummy!
Then off to see American Idiot which I am calling the Rent of the Warp Tour generation!
That night we met up with my roomie and went to the Empire Hotel Rooftop Bar and ended up getting free bottle service. These NYC boys have no idea what hit them when the southern girls came to town.

Sun-
Slept in a bit later and went to get educational discounts for Chicago.
Chicago was ok, but I have to say I loved the movie and the glitz of it.
After Chicago we tried to student rush another show but had no luck...
Instead we went to Ellen's Stardust Dinner and listened to the singing!
We decided to leave Timesquare when we heard $20 dollars Mamma Mia!
We checked out the tickets and a nice man with his two daughters came up and assured us they were real. They were tickets from a school trip that had cancellation so we got them and had amazing seats at Mamma Mia for $20! It was so amazing and was my second time seeing the show!
After we walked to the Rock and saw the ice skaters and went home!

It was such an amazing weekend and I had so much fun!!

This Beach Girl is Freezing

Wow... I am sure you all know that New York had snow last night but whoa! And apparently it wasn't even that bad. Yiekes! Here is a picture of the snow outside of my office on Bleecker Street.
Talk about craziness. So glad I have two classmates that work with my at Focus to walk with in the mornings. Today will be really long. I have work from 10am-6pm then class from 7-10:30pm. Hopefully, it wont go the entire time tonight.
I am trying to put together all the plans for this weekend when W comes into town but I am just as lost as any tourist here when it comes to choosing restaurants and places for night life.
But... we shall prevail both the cold and the fact that I am still just a tourist here really with a job haha. Until tomorrow (where I have big news!)

Boots!

As many of you all know I am moving to New York City in January!
It is going to be cold, and wet so I need some boots... and I got them!Stewart Weitzman Galosh
They are weather-proof, have tread, and are super fashionable.
I got the Hunter Wellie liners to go inside them as well.

Say A Little Prayer for Me!

My Baylor in New York application has been submitted. If chosen I will spend a semester in NYC, interning and taking classes at NYU. I will get to live in the old St. George Hotel that has been turned into NYU dorms. I am hoping to intern with a network or a public relations firm. Aside from interning and class, I will get to live and play in NYC for a whole semester. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity that I hope I get! So think of me and my dreams of "The City!"
