Things Southern Girls Like: College Football

So one thing I have noticed while living in L.A. is a shock people by my knowledge of football. Not only do I know the NFL, but more importantly to me, I know NCAA.

My co-workers are astonished when I talk about the CBS (College Bowl Series) and my thoughts on the recent Big 12 controversies.

Well with that said, today is GAME DAY!

And my Baylor Bears are taking on TCU. I seriously hope that RG3 will continue to be the savior of the Baylor Nation as we Rise Up.

Greek Week!

Well it is Greek Week here at Baylor University!
We have had an event each day.

Mon: Greek Showcase
Tue: Greek Movie Night
Wed: Grecian Games (PNM's play games with greek coaches)
Thur: Fraternity BBQ and Traditions Pep Rally for our first game!
Sat: Baylor vs. Sam Houston State Football Game

Our Bowl Game!!

Baylor's Version of a Bowl Game

We all really want to go to a bowl this year but luck have it our quarterback tore his ACL in preseason. So we made our own bowl the Shootout or as we like to call it the BUTT Bowl. (BU-TT ;) 71,000 people cramed into the new Cowboys stadium for a really great game!We lost but only by 7 points. So we didn't get embarrassed. Basically, we will never play any game in a stadium as nice as this, so here was our bowl. It was my first real college football experience. It felt great to know enough Bears could fill half of Jerry World, see all we really do care. Here is the whole family, my mom, dad, grandparents, and I, all clad in our green and gold! With the beautiful Cowboys Stadium in the background!

Best Weekend Wrap Up Ever

So this basically was one of the best weekends ever:

Friday- My parent came in town for Parents Weekend and we went to our lunch tradition Ninfa's Mexican Food as soon as they got there. Then we went ring shopping for my college ring... more on that later! We chilled for awhile then the girls and I all got ready for Britney Spears!!! We sat in the owners suite and had VIP passes... Love my life!

We went to dinner at Bubba's in Highland Park and I got to see Maddie one of my campers I love so much! The concert was amazing and so entertaining!
Here is a pic of the roomies and I in the box... the lazers kinda mess it up but oh well!
Then we went home to Waco and met up with all of our alumni friends who came in town including an old fling of mine... hehe! Lets just say flames may be igniting once again.

Saturday: Game Day! Baylor vs. U.Conn and our overly confident Bears thought they one the game before they stepped on the field. Silly Bears, Jesus teaches us humility in all things, even football. Of course, W and I looked super cute in our game day outfits!
W and I and our alumni mothers and should be considered alumni fathers all went to a steak house for dinner to catch up and have fun!
I love my W!
Then we went to Katie's Custard which is delicious and came home and chatted when it was time for my parents to leave.
Later that night I had to go save my favorite frat boys from the cops when they needed a sober driver!
So PBC to the rescue as always... gotta love my boys!

Getting my life together slowly but surely...

So here we are again with my endless to do list... This gets me thinking why do we have to do lists, is it the ultra organized prep in me or the fact that I go to a very challenging university, both, or something entirely different.

Well last weekend was supposed to be laundry/ cleaning/ change the sheets weekend...
Well do to a frat party on Saturday none of that happened haha

Well here is the latest rundown...

• Mom and Dad come on Friday for Parents Weekend
• Then my girls and I are jetting off to Dallas to go see Britney Spears
• Then back for Baylor vs. U.Conn game with my sorority tail gate before it
• Then hanging out with my parents
• And all this time my second draft of my local attraction piece is due Sunday at 5pm

So before I can have all of this fun I need to:

• Change sheets
• Put up laundry
• Wash all my dirty clothes
• Clean all of Eta House
• Deep clean bathroom

Please note: I will clean everything for my mom to come and reclean the entire thing!
Gotta love my momma!

National College Colors Day!

It is National Wear Your College Colors Day! Here in the south football is life and we get dressed up for games!

For all us Texas girls Campus Couture has made us a line of great college game day clothes.

Yesterday Was AMAZING!!!

Yesterday (Friday) was the greatest day!

It all started with lunch with C, out for sushi.
Then we went to Sigma Chi Derby Days. We met up with our other Theta lovelies and spent the afternoon playing flag football, and tug of war.
Then C an I decided to throw an Mexican Fiesta that night!
C made enchiladas and I made beans, guacamole, and tres leches cake.
E (C's roomate) made rice and queso. It was so much fun to have all my girls and a few boys over for dinner and margaritas.This was our serving area!

Then we went to a Sigma Chi party and had so much fun for the night.
I came home at 1am and cleaned EVERYTHING.

Crazy put it was the best day ever!
