Design on a Dime: A Good Place to Sit and Read a Book (or script)

In this entry of Design on a Dime we are looking at our sitting area and bookcase. This is another really round Pinterest moment for us!

We saw this brilliant idea on Cupcakes and Cashmere and knew we had to try. And just like her, we turned to the Melrose Trading Post!!

We found three used suitcases and the vintage globe I think for a total of $40.

Our Version!

We completed our reading area with a painting from Melrose Trading Post and a chair, you know so you can sit and read! The white chair is from Ikea and was one of the few pieces of furniture that journeyed from Texas courtesy of my roommate.

Our book case also survived the trip from Texas and hails from the great Ikea as well. Since the three of us all work in the film industry there are many more dvd's than there are books, but we have a few good ones! We decked it out with a blue plate that matches our color scheme and some candle holder that we found a long time ago on sale at hobby lobby! Pretty much it serves as our extended entertainment center!

What do you think? Does our sitting area hold up for our design on a dime motto?
