#NYFW for Those Not in Fashion

So it is New York Fashion Week- but you already knew this. Why? Because this is the time of year where every blogger becomes a fashion blogger. Also most of my NYC friends are attending their first fashion weeks leading to my Facebook also being taken over.

Now seeing as how I work in the film industry and the Toronto International Film Festival is going on, fashion week is sadly not my number one priority. Instead things like the END OF WATCH premiere are far more up my alley!

But none the less I love fashion. So here is my guide to New York Fashion Week for those of us who do not live within the glamorous world of the fashion industry.

A Film Girls Guide to Fashion Week

  1. Choose a few select people to follow on Twitter. For me key people are @OscarPRGirl, @GrungyGentleman and Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere. I like these people because Oscar PR Girl is pretty much in the know on everything, and Emily Schuman has amazing (and similar) taste to mine. Grungy Gentleman follows menswear, which should not be over looked.
  2. Try to see one live show streamed (or pretend to at least). WWD gives you the scoop on the whole line that you can quickly browse through when you have a few minutes to kill. See the Oscar De La Renta line here.
  3. A huge part of New York Fashion Week is the street style worn to the shows. I like to follow Refinery 29 for this. One I already follow them for their amazing Los Angeles section, but this makes it really easy to see what the fashionably savvy are wearing.
  4. If you can take one thing remember: OX BLOOD

Gossip Girl Fashion and Alice + Olivia

Ok, ok I know, Gossip Girl overload lately but I can't help it! The show, the love story, the fashion... yumm! Well I wanted to tell you all about a little site I found called Gossip Girl Fashion. They take the guess work out of the clothes you see on the show by providing you these lovely outfit pics. They tell you the exact outfit worn on the show, like this Alice and Olivia Striped Sequin Sweater I am obsessed with, as well as a few item that are less expensive but still accomplish the look! But seriously how cute is that sweater, so very New York. They feature all characters and any outfit that is amazing. There are also hair and makeup tutorials as well. Check it out!

Is Juicy juicy again?

I swore off Juicy Couture upon entering college, but moving to New York has me looking for the first time in my life at the "Cold Weather Shop" at Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus. Well I stumbled upon Juicy again and have to say maybe the line has grown up a little bit, just like me. While still retaining the fun colors and sparkles, just like me. I have to say some Juicy will be on my Christmas list again this year.

These boots are too cute and will be perfect for the super cold weather I am about to encounter.

Sarabeth Boot

How precious is this total sequined bag... now this will probably not make the cute to be purchased but still thought it was worth sharing.

Daydreamer Sequin

Ahhh I am obsessed with this ring it is so amazingly adorable.

Juicy also has a huge assortment of gloves, scarfs, and hats that I will be sure to dive into as well.
What do you think, has Juicy made a comeback?

Back to School Shopping

Hello everyone today is my last night off so probably no post until next weekend but I might get in the counselor break room for a few seconds to use the computer!

Second term of camp is almost over... I have a tan, lost a few pounds (only a few), and my hair is continually getting bleached by the sun. Life is good!

I am about to start my back to school shopping here in San Antonio next weekend with my mom and dad... a few items on my list are
  1. Joe's Jeggings- They are the best from what I have heard and I love the comfort of leggings but the look of jeans! They are a bit thicker than normal leggings giving you a bit more coverage!
  2. Black strappy sandals- The ones pictured are by Jimmy Choo, mine will not be but hey a girl can dream! These are a staple for going out this fall!
  3. Makeup from MAC and Kiehls!!
I will do a blog later about all my great finds and my new project!! Get Excited!! Talk to you later after camp closes! Love Love Love!!
